There are a number of organizations which are able to give further advice and support about woodland management and creation etc. these include:
Red Rose Forest
Red Rose is the community forest for the Cities of Manchester and Salford and the boroughs of Bolton, Bury, Trafford and Wigan. They are able to give further advice on woodland and tree issues. Contact: 0161 872 1660
Greater Manchester Biodiversity Project
The Greater Manchester Biodiversity partnership is working to deliver the Greater Manchester Biodiversity Action plan, and leads on plans and projects for its implmentation. Contact: 0161 371 8146
Forestry Commission
The government agencies with responsibility for woodland and forest policy, and for the delivery of grant aid for forestry.
Rochdale Countryside Services

Groundwork Oldham and Rochdale
Groundwork is an environmental charity which runs a wide range of programme including landscapes and conservation work, education and community activities and has a number of volunteer and training. Contact: 0161 624 1444
BTCV
A national organization and charity which specialises in environmental conservation volunteering through a range of activities. BTCV also runs a number of Green Gym projects throughout the country linking health and fitness with conservation work. Contact: 01706 713244
